FAQs
What is a chiropractor?
A very well educated, non-invasive, patient centred, manual practitioner who uses hands-on techniques to find the root cause and help to relieve your pain. We use a variety of techniques including manipulations, mobilizations, soft tissue techniques, cupping, and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Techniques.
What is that popping sound?
Manipulations help restore joint movement. As a result you may hear a pop or crack sound. This is a result of nitrogen gases being released from the joint. It may or may not be heard during your adjustment!
How much schooling did you do?
Many years! 10 to be exact. After an undergraduate degree, I decided to do a 3 year Athletic Therapy program at York University. After working with multiple sports teams, I wanted to continue my education, so I enrolled in the chiropractic program at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto. After 10 years of post-secondary education, I feel well equipped to help my patients!
What is your favourite treatment modality?
My hands! Don’t get me wrong, I love to use some tools like my Theragun, cupping and soft tissue instruments like Graston, however, I find a lot of techniques can be accomplished just using my hands!
How many sessions do I need?
This is a tough one! The answer is it depends. There are many factors to consider such as how long you’ve had an injury and what your current limitations are. After an assessment, I will be able to give you a clearer idea
What if I don’t want adjustments?
There are so many other treatment options out there! I’ve taken training in soft tissue techniques, instruments and taping to offer my patients a variety of options. I will offer only what I think you need to get you back to doing what you love.
Do you only treat the spine?
Nope! I treat all joints including your hands, ankles, knees, hips and shoulders. If you have any concerns about past injuries or current aches, please let me know. I would love to help :)
